Greater Glasgow Network of Supported Employment (GGNSE)

In November 2002 GGNSE received a two year grant from the Community Fund to develop a network of agencies that support people facing disadvantage in the labour market to find and sustain employment. GGNSE now has over 364 members made up of individuals and representatives from over 170 organisations operating in the Glasgow metropolitan area. The results of a Members' Survey in October 2004 indicated general satisfaction with GGNSE.
GGNSE is currently seeking continuation funding.

Our Aims and Objectives

What is Supported Employment?

Supported Employment is paid and open employment for individuals disadvantaged in the labour market through the provision of ongoing and flexible support from specialist agencies.

What we aim to do

What we offer members

Who should join the Network?

Organisations and individuals with an interest in supported employment and living or working in the Greater Glasgow area are invited to join the network. Membership is free at present. However, we are in the early stages of introducing a charging structure which we hope will enable local organisations to become affiliated members of the Scottish Union of Supported Employment (SUSE) the national body that supports local networks, like GGNSE, across Scotland.
